| Job Purpose: Reporting to the Chair, responsible for the administrative, financial and personnel management of the department. Included in this responsibility are financial accounting, reporting and related accounting systems, as well as the coding, billing and collections function. Works for the Chair to assure all goals and objectives of the Department are met. |

| 1. |
Responsible for all facets of IDX billing system as it applies to the department, including billing, reporting, compliance (internal and external rules and regulations), fee setting, scheduling, financial counseling, front end cash collection, and patient flow. |

| Job Requirements: (Include age specific requirements as applicable.) 1. Knowledge, skills, and experience: The successful candidate should possess a business degree (MasterŐs Degree preferred), with a minimum of five years of management experience in physician practices and/or academic healthcare environments. Must have strong leadership and presentation skills and the ability to positively interact with all levels of the organization. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software required. Knowledge of IDX systems preferred. 2. Degree of supervision (i.e., direct, indirect), independence and discretion: Position reports to Department Chair, works closely with Vice Chairs of Academics and Clinical Affairs, and is a member of the DepartmentŐs Executive Committee, which manages all department affairs. 3. Physical demands and/or other special requirements: Requires unassisted movement between areas; sitting and standing for extended periods, lifting of 25 lbs and ability to work under stress conditions. Should have corrected vision and hearing within normal limits. |
