Board of Directors - BIO


Majik is the Director of Finance and Administration for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. 

In her role, Majik focuses on data-driven management, process improvement, efficiency, and productivity while maintaining or expanding fiscal results. Her project success formula includes
being a people-person, a critical thinker, and a motivator along with the utilization of the data-driven techniques.

When not at work, she enjoys spend time with my family, read books, shop at Costco, and take advantage of the beautiful outdoors of Colorado.


Joe is the Chief Administrative Officer for the Duke Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, working with Divisional and Departmental administration to meet the academic, clinical, and educational missions of the Department. Joe has also served as a member of the Duke School of Medicine Inclusion Council since 2016. Joe is originally from West Virginia and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from West Virginia University, and Masters Degrees in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University.  Prior to joining Duke, Joe worked in public accounting for Grant Thornton, LLP and audit and financial analysis for a Fortune 500 retailer, The Pantry, Inc. Joe joined Duke in 2011 as a Financial Analyst in the PDC Finance Department and transitioned to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2015.



Meg grew up on Long Island, New York, and majored in Psychology at Bryn Mawr College near    Philadelphia. She earned a Masters in Public Health degree from George Washington University in 1999,  and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in 2006. Her early career was spent supporting the NIAID-funded multicenter Pedicatric AIDS Clinical Trials Group (PACTG), working from her office on the NIH main campus. She moved to Texas in 1999 to help develop the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) which she did for 13 years. In her work with BIPAI, Meg traveled extensively and helped to establish clinical care programs in Romania, Mexico, Venezuela, and many southern African countries. She pivoted to serve as the Baylor College of Medicine Neuroscience Department Administrator from 2013-2018. She found her calling in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology -- and AMGO -- in 2018. The BCM Ob/Gyn Department has ~175 faculty, 48 residents, ~25 fellows, ~70 research support staff, and ~30 administrative and educational support staff. Meg is delighted to serve as Vice President of AMGO and looks forward to learning from all of her remarkable colleagues. Personally, Meg is married to Christopher Ferris and has two adult children, Mary (21) and John (17), and a ten year-old rescue beagle named Willie Nelson. 


Gail retired in 2022 from the University of Minnesota, where she had served as the Department Administrator for the Department of OB/GYN & Women's Health. As part of her role, Gail provided strategic & operational management and oversight of clinical services, research, and graduate medical education programs in the department. Prior to UMN, she was the Clinic Director for La Clinica, the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Minnesota. As an entrepreneurial-minded leader, Gail has more than three decades of leading start-up businesses within healthcare, literacy and retail sectors. Throughout her career, Gail has pursued leadership roles in industries aligned with her passions and interests. After working for Planned Parenthood of Utah, she was named Regional Director and directed the launch of the first Planned Parenthood clinics in South Dakota. Her business skills were then transferred to the book industry where she managed the opening of the first Barnes & Noble superstore in South Dakota. As a result of her success at B&N, she was recruited to manage the 14th largest B&N superstore (600+ stores nationwide) in Edina, MN.  Later, she joined Scholastic Book Fairs (publisher of the Harry Potter series) where she opened the Heartland Region, a new seven-state region based in Minneapolis, MN. She holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and Health Education/Community Health from the University of Utah and University of South Dakota. Linkedin


Kara is currently the Chief Administrative Officer at the University of Wisconsin, Department of OB/GYN, Madison, where she has been for the past 6 years. Prior to joining OB/GYN, she held several positions in organizations outside of the University and within the Department of Surgery. She partners closely with leadership at UW Health in conducting the daily and strategic operations of the Departments five clinical divisions. Kara has served on the AMGO Board of Directors as a Director-at-Large from 2016-2018 and Vice-President from 2018-2019 prior to becoming President-Elect. Since 2015 she has also served on the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Wisconsin Chapter as Programming Committee Co-Chair. Kara received her Masters degrees in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. Linkedin



Jody is the Vice Chair for Finance and Administration for the Department of Ob/Gyn at the Medical University of South Carolina. She has been serving in her current position for seven years where she develops and manages the department’s budget and financial operations, oversees the administrative aspects of the clinical, education, and research programs, as well as facilitating strategic planning and business development activities of the department. She has worked in the Ob/Gyn Department for 23 years, where she also held management positions in Coding/Compliance, Revenue Cycle and Clinical Operations. Prior to MUSC, she worked with several Healthcare Practice Management and Consulting firms in various roles in Revenue Cycle Management and Practice Management for Ancillary Service clients. She has enjoyed being an AMGO member since 2015, serving on the annual conference’s program committee for two years and co-chairing the 2019 conference committee. She has been serving on the AMGO Board of Directors as Secretary since Spring 2019.
